The Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management (BIOPAMA) programme aims to improve the long-term conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries, in protected areas and surrounding communities.
With funding from UNDP, IIED, In partnership with the International Gorilla Conservation Program in Uganda, the Responsible Tourism Partnership of the UK and Kwetu Uganda, BMCT is engaged in skilling youth and women in different marketable trades.
In partnership with Swarovski Water School programme, BMCT implemented the Sustainable Water Management for People and Nature project around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda
BMCT in partnership with CARE has implemented the Rights Equity in Protected Areas (REPA), Batwa Livelihood Improvement Project (BLP), and the Health Education Agriculture Landrights (HEAL). (2005 – 2014)
The Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration (GVTC) programme brings together the Rwanda, DR Congo and Uganda Protected Area Authorities and collaborating partners engaged in the conservation of the Central Albertine Rift Ecosystem. (2010 – 2015)
